Have you ever wondered what empty nesters do when the little ones grow up, move out, and have kids of their own? I had to find out for myself when my kids did just that. I soon took up an old love of minephotography!
God ministered to my heart in ways that were absolutely wonderful and He did it while I was taking pictures. Most of the time I went by myself, with the Lord guiding the way. He would reveal His creation one flower at a time, one bird at a time, one sunset at a time. To be honest, there were many times that I totally missed the picture because I would be so in awe over something the Lord would show me that I would completely forget about the camera. Years later, it still happens, but thankfully not as much.
Today, here I am, trying to minister to others with the same joy and love that the Lord showed me. I pray that each picture will leave you with a sense of goodness about the Lord, that you would feel His peace and comfort knowing that if He can provide us with these little sprouts of goodness in nature, He can do so much more with the problems in our lives. He is our living hope.
My creative expression is a little different. I know you find a lot of photographers cover up blemishes and scars on flowers. I have chosen not to with some photos. Sometimes I feel that these photos represent our own relationship with Christ. We, too, have scars and bruises that we carry with us, and they made us who we are. If God can love us in spite of them (sometimes because of them), well, why can't we love ourselves, too? He knows where all our hurts and pains and scars come from and He still loves us! So I have intentionally not altered some of the photos, why bother hiding them. You will also find that some of the photos may have a blurry look. That was done intentionally to be creative and to make the words/subject stand out more.
“The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8) The word of God not only endures forever, but also has power in it to lift anyone out of their darkest, most difficult moments. This is one of the reasons we offer personalized options for you. You can select any of our photographs and provide us with a verse or quote that speaks to your heart and we will customize it for you.
“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord's people.” (Philemon 1:7) Our hope is that you find these pieces of art a true source of encouragement and will be moved to share them with others, planting your own seeds of joy!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for allowing me the joy of doing this for you. I want above all to do what is pleasing to God. I can't wait to see what the future holds! There is a lot more to come!
